We're All Surviving

Adventures In Sleep Deprivation

Carolyn and I are a little short on sleep - we both have gotten about ten hours total in the last three days. Many people told us we were crazy to have two kids under the age of two. Well, we are beginning to think you were all right. But, we'll trade sleep for our kids.

The Long And Winding Road

I have taken quite a few drives up and down 405 the last few nights. Let's just say Rosie has not been the best sleeper since Matty arrived. She keeps waking up in the middle night and will not go back down. The only way to get her to sleep is to put her in the car seat and drive for 20 minutes or so. The two of us have "gone for a drive" at 1am Monday morning, 3am on Tuesday morning, and 330am this morning. I would of course rather be sleeping, but on the positive side I do think I discovered the only time when there is not traffic on 405.

I Bought Matty A New Hat

Just in time for the last three football games of the NFL season. You can bet the two of us will be watching the games this weekend. My predictions: Steelers over the Broncos, Hawks over the Panthers.

An Update On Matty

He Sleeps, Eats, Cries, Eats, Sleeps, Eats, Poops, Sleeps, Eats, Pees, Cries, Sleeps, Eats, and then Sleeps again

Found This Pretty Powerful

I first came upon this passage reading the DaVinci code and then did some research to verify. Dan Brown writes, "For centuries, the symbol of the Rose had been associated with maps and guiding souls in the proper direction." Though we did not know this when we named her - her name is perfect. Both Carolyn and I feel we were off course before Rosie and she has put us in the proper direction (and made us happier than we could ever imagine).

Yet Another Reason Why I Love Rosie

Rosie is beginning to better understand her bodily functions. She has just now started telling us when she has a dirty diaper and needs to be changed. This morning, she came up to me, pointed to her bum, and said "poo poo, poo poo." I went to pick her up and go change what was a very stinky diaper. However, before I could she ran to Carolyn and yelled "no Dadda, Momma." What a great kid!

Closing Thought: I Think Rosie Has Enough Toys
